Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish is the original powdered cleaner trusted for tackling rust stains, tarnish, mineral deposits, soap scum, grease and stubborn marks on many hard, non-porous surfaces.
It has become especially popular in New Zealand for restoring shower glass, stainless steel sinks, cookware, taps, tiles and other hard surfaces that need more than an everyday spray cleaner.
Unlike chlorine bleach-based cleaners, BKF uses oxalic acid, mineral abrasive and surfactant to help break down rust, lime, tarnish and built-up grime. It is bleach-free, but still powerful, so always use it as directed and test first on delicate or unknown surfaces.

Customisable cleaning power
Because BKF is a powder, you can control the strength of the clean. Use a thicker paste for tougher stains, rust marks, mineral build-up and shower glass spots. Use a lighter slurry for everyday cleaning, stainless steel sinks, cookware and more delicate jobs.
For best results, keep the surface wet, rub gently with a damp cloth, sponge or suitable non-scratch pad, then rinse thoroughly within one minute of application. Do not let the product sit longer or scrub harder than necessary.

How to use BKF Cleanser & Polish
- Wet the surface first.
- Sprinkle a small amount of BKF onto the wet surface.
- Rub gently with a wet cloth, sponge or suitable non-scratch pad.
- Rinse thoroughly within one minute of application.
- Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
For stainless steel, rub in the direction of the grain where possible. Reapply if needed rather than leaving the product sitting for longer.
Caution
BKF is acidic and contains polishing compounds. It may etch, dull, scratch or discolour delicate surfaces if used incorrectly. Always test on a small, hidden area first, especially on fibreglass, plastics, anodised aluminium, brushed metal, coated surfaces or any surface you are unsure about.
Ingredients and safety
Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser & Polish is formulated with glass oxide abrasive, oxalic acid and surfactant.
- Do not ingest, inhale or get in eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not mix with bleach, ammonia or other chemicals.
- For prolonged use or sensitive skin, wear gloves.
- Avoid breathing in powder dust. Wet the surface first and use in a well-ventilated area.
- If swallowed, contact a doctor or poison centre immediately.
- If product gets in eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes.

The Cleanser .This does what it says it will do. The Cookware . Is amazing. It will keep all your stainless steel pans like new, see photo. These pans are at least 15 years old, used daily. Were a real mess prior to BKF. I purchased this after the Cleanser as it just wasn't cutting it on the fry pans. The More cleaner, I used on the glass shower doors and they look great now too. I'm so pleased BKF is now available in NZ

We had two enamel coated cast iron burnt pans and kept them for a year. We decided to give Bar Keepers Friend a go at cleaning them before finally throwing them out. After quite a bit of elbow grease to scrub it worked like a charm. We honestly can say that we didn’t believe in the hype around this product but now we’re totally sold! Gonna use it on car headlights restoration next.
Purchased a second tin of cleanser as I was so happy with how our first shower scrubbed up. My first review shows the after of both sides but I was unable to upload the two photos together so am showing the before photo here with just the one side cleaned. It is an amazing product. I haven't been able to get the shower glass this clean in years. Makes the shower look like new. Love your product.

When I first cleaned my shower tiles with it, there was a white sheen left behind... The next time wiping it dry with a damp cloth seemed to work so that didn't happen. But it's not actually CLEANpost biodegradable and so forth is it...

I really love Barkeeper's Friend. I've only used the powder and in conjunction with scrub daddy, it's so good getting rust marks off cutlery, coffee & tea stains off cups, sink, scissors. Works wonders on my oven fryer surfaces as well. Love my scrub daddy - use it everyday with Barkeeper's Friend. Love my Dust Daddy - great on venetian blinds and the sills. I use it everyday wherever dust gathers. Turn it on its side and it gets into deep areas where dust settles

Really cleans hard to clean stuff and leaves it shiny and sparkly.
Used it to restore some stainless steel pans. They came up good in the end, but it still took quite a bit of elbow grease, so not a magical fix like I was hoping.
Great product and I love to use it. Just had issues with the parcel delivery. It didn’t have my flat number on it (probably a mistake from the address provider) and was nearly sent back.
