Welcome to Part 3 of 'Make the Most of Bar Keepers Friend'. Here at BKF NZ we often get asked "What can I use this on?" or "Can I use this on such and such?"
And while we love answering your questions, we felt it was time to show you where best to use our products, this time being the Bar Keepers Friend MORE Spray & Foam.
This is our gentlest formula but is still a very tough product so always, ALWAYS test on a small area first and wipe or rinse thoroughly after use.

Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a versatile surface used in many areas both inside and outside the house. Whether it be in your kitchen, bathroom, or the outdoor BBQ area, Bar Keepers Friend products have multiple uses.
ALWAYS test on a small area first. If you have a brushed stainless steel surface use the More Spray and clean in the direction of the grain.
When cleaning stainless steel we recommend starting with the MORE Spray, and then stepping up to the Soft Cleanser or even the powdered Cleanser if need be.
Note: The following instructions are for the MORE Spray only.
Instructions:
Step 1: Use a non-scratch pad/sponge (we recommend a light-grade pad) or a Scrub Daddy rinsed in warm water.
Step 2: Spray the foam directly onto the surface.
Step 3: Using the damp cleaning pad, lightly clean in small circles. The product is designed to quickly soften and lift stains, reducing the need for extremely hard scrubbing.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly and well within a minute of application. Wipe the surface with a clean dry cloth.
Porcelain & Ceramic
The Bar Keepers Friend MORE Spray & Foam is great on traditional porcelain and ceramic, so it is perfect for toilets and bathroom sinks.
Remember the MORE Spray is our gentlest option, suitable for general and lighter stains. For tough jobs you may want to step up to the Soft Cleanser or even the powder.
Note: The following instructions are for the MORE Spray only.
Instructions:
Step 1: Spray a generous amount of MORE Spray directly onto the surface.
Step 2: Use a light-grade non-scratch pad or Scrub Daddy with warm water for best results. Scrub in small circles at a time, rather than the whole surface at once.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with water or a damp cloth. Dry the surface and buff up the shine with a clean a dry cloth.
Chrome
Generally on chrome, we recommend the MORE Spray & Foam along with a light-grade pad or a Scrub Daddy for a gentle, non-scratch clean. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning, using warm water and a microfibre cloth or towel.
For those really tough jobs, you may want to step up to the Soft Cleanser, or even the powder used with a tough grade pad.
The following instructions are for the MORE Spray & Foam.
Instructions:
Step 1: Spray directly onto the chrome surface if possible, otherwise spray your damp cleaning pad or Scrub Daddy.
Step 2: Clean! Use a light-grade non-scratch pad or a Scrub Daddy with lukewarm water for best results.
Step 3: Rinse well, then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down and shine the surface. Job done!
Splashbacks
With any BKF products you should always test on a small area first, but this is especially important for splashbacks as they can be made and manufactured differently.
DO NOT use if any protective coating has been applied. Check with manufacturer if unsure.
Instructions:
Step 1: Dampen a non-scratch pad/sponge (we recommend a light-grade pad or microfibre cloth).
Step 2: Spray the product directly onto the surface, or onto the pad or sponge.
Step 3: Working in a small area at a time, rather than the whole area at once, start cleaning!
Step 4: Rinse well to ensure the solution is thoroughly removed. Wipe down and shine with a dry, soft, clean cloth.
Aluminium
When you think of aluminium, you probably only think of cans or tinfoil, when in fact there are many items made from aluminium. These include ladders and some mail-boxes, golf clubs, sinks, faucets, window frames, pots & pans, gates and car wheel rims.
Remember, Bar Keepers Friend products are powerful cleansers so always test on a small area first, even when using our most gentle More Spray. This is especially important when using on a new surface.
To start with we recommend trying the MORE Spray & Foam, as this is our gentlest option. For tougher jobs, you may want to step up to the Soft Cleanser or even our toughest product, the powdered Cleanser.
Please note: these instructions only apply to the MORE Spray & Foam.
Instructions:
Step 1: Spray the MORE Spray & Foam directly to the surface or on to your damp cleaning pad/sponge.
Step 2: Start scrubbing! A light-grade non-scratch pad or Scrub Daddy used with warmer water works well.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, soft cloth to ensure any residue is removed.
Acrylic/Plastic Showers
Plastic showers are a bit of a mixed bag! The issue with plastic/perspex/acrylic shower doors is that in many cases, even the most gentle cloth or cleaning pad can cause harmful scratches!
We recommend starting with the gentlest form of Bar Keepers Friend, being the MORE Spray & Foam and light grade pad or Scrub Daddy. Move up to the Soft Cleanser if need be.
The MORE Spray is completely non-abrasive and would have nothing in it to cause damage, only question being if the surface build-up is too tough for the gentle option… as many are.
As always spot test in a small area first, rinse thoroughly and let dry to ensure you are happy before committing to the entire shower.

Step 1: Dampen a light-grade pad, Scrub Daddy, or microfibre cloth with water.
Step 2: Spray MORE Spray & Foam directly onto the surface or onto the pad/cloth being used.
Step 3: Clean in small circles at a time.
Step 4: Rinse well with plenty of water to ensure all residue is removed. Wipe dry with a clean towel or soft dry cloth.
Car Headlights
Foggy or cloudy headlights not only look bad, but they are also dangerous. Not only do they reduce the amount of light coming through they also impact the scattering of the light which can cause glare for other drivers, so it is definitely important to make sure your headlights remain clean.
Instructions:
Step 1: Spray Bar Keepers Friend MORE Spray onto the headlights
Step 2: Clean in small circles on the headlights to buff clean.
Step 3: Rinse with a wet cloth or hose.
Step 4: Dry with a soft cloth or towel. Happy headlights!
